One of this biggest shockers last year was the 49ers becoming a lottery team. A team that was expected to make the Superbowl or at least the NFC Championship game, was sitting at home, scouting a draft prospect to be picked very early in the first round. It was so bad for the 49ers, that they fired their head coach, hoping that a change could help the 9ers find that Dawg in them again.
It worked.
The 49ers have started the season off strong with a 2-0 record. A blowout win against the Falcons. But most impressively, they squeezed out a win against another tough NFC opponent in the Packers. A game that was almost all offense, saw Brock Purdy outduel Jordan Love. A great sight for the 49ers, who have clearly given Purdy the keys. And with a showing like last week, he’ll have those keys for a very long time.
This season will be fun. We are seeing teams rise. Seeing teams find their identity. Find that Dawg. Seeing teams put the league on notice. This will be a fight. A fight until the end. And maybe, just maybe, we see the 9ers be the last team standing.
