This week the Minnesota Vikings traveled to Carolina to face the 3-0 Panthers. After a controversial loss last week, the Vikings came with only one thing in mind: Destruction. What seemed like it could be a potential GOTW, turned out to be a clear Vikings statement. The Vikings’ defense had Bryce Young throw countless amounts of interceptions. The mix between blitzes and coverage defense had the rookie look just like that: a rookie.

In such a tough division, all eyes will be on their upcoming matches against division rivals Bears and Packers. But for now, my vote is Vikings. The Vikings travel home to Minnesota and will face the Chiefs, who come off a much-needed win. If the Vikings win this game, it is needless to say, that they are a heavy favorite, if not the heavy favorite to win it all. Or maybe that’s just recency bias. I mean this is a “What have you done for me lately” type of league. And lately, the Vikings look like they are those guys.

Or maybe the Panthers were overrated. Rumor has it that a certain head coach said that the Panthers were never that good in the first place and got a lucky win. After a tough loss like that, it would be kind of hard to argue against that. The Panthers must bounce back, but it won’t be easy going against an already Super Bowl Winner coach of the Detroit Lions. The Vikings beating the Panthers wasn’t just a message to the Panthers, but a message to the league. No matter your record, you can lose and you can lose badly. You can be humbled. You can be exalted. You could beat the best team or you could lose to the worst team. Why? Well because this is a Any Given Sunday type of league.
