The Commanders are quietly having one of the best seasons in the league. So much talk has been on the AFC side, but don’t sleep, there is a team in Washington D.C. putting in that work!

The Commanders now sit at 7-3 and are 3rd in the NFC standings. So far, their defense has been really doing wonders for them, but looking at them from the outside, nothing really stands out. I mean, yeah, their defense ranks 6th in points allowed, but nothing jumps out and says 7-3 team. So what is the reason this team is 7-3? Maybe heart? Maybe heart? Maybe an easy schedule? Maybe a balanced offense? A great defense? Maybe a little bit of all of that.

At the end of the day, the Commanders are handling business. Last year in the playoffs, they had a terrible performance, and it looks like they have taken that experience to move on to greater things. Sam Howell is doing a much better job taking care of the ball than last year. Let’s be honest, his poor play hindered them last season. This season he has been a quarterback who is just doing a good job taking care of the ball as the Commanders pound the rock. The Broncos were desperate to move on from Derrick Henry, and they finally found a team to take him. The King set foot in Washington, and he has been the Henry we are so used to seeing. Now with a rushing attack, the Commander’s offense is so much better. And with a great defense, this team may, dare I say, give the “top dawgs” a run for their money. And who is to say the Commanders are not “top dawgs” themselves? They have not had the toughest schedule, but they beat the teams they were supposed to beat. They play the Panthers next week, where we will get to see how they are against a championship contender. Nonetheless, give the Commanders their respect.
