Although the playoff teams in the AFC are all but decided, there is still some work to be done in the seeding. One of which is that heavily coveted #1 seed, which guarantees a team a first-round bye. Both the Titans and Colts sit at 15-1.
The last time these teams met it was a crazy defensive battle. This time around, it is expected to be the same. However, additions by both teams make this a matchup that you will want to tune in. Before the trade deadline, the Titans acquired Roquan Smith in a trade with the Ravens. That has only made the Titans scarier defensively. With one of the best offenses in the league and the best defense, the Colts must play perfect football to win.
For the Colts, they acquired Myles Garrett in a trade with the Browns. And a team that was already great defensively got a superstar in Garrett to make them more of a headache. Offensively though, the Colts are not as polished as the Titans, and that may be the difference in the outcome of their week 18 matchup.
The Colts need this win. A loss would put them in a situation where they would have to play a wildcard game in the tough AFC. For the Titans, a win and a Raiders loss, whether this week to the Chiefs or next week to the Ravens, would give them the first-round bye.
