Hindsight is 2020.

The Bears had a chance in the draft to take the likes of C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, AR5, and more. Yet, on that night they decided to trade that pick to the Panthers, signifying their belief in Justin Fields. After another tough loss, this time to the Commanders, which saw Fields throw 4 interceptions, it may just be time for the Bears to move on.

Justin Fields has thrown 13 interceptions with only 8 touchdowns. The decision to keep him was questioned back at the draft, but now it’s clear there is a problem. If the Bears cannot muster up some wins, there still may be light at the end of the tunnel. That light being Caleb Williams, the top QB prospect in the nation.

I have not talked to the Bears head coach, a former SB winner himself, but I think it is safe to say that change is desired. The Bears are not an awful team, but they are missing key pieces to elevate them to true contention. Will Justin Fields be traded? If so, what value does he really have? In an already tough division, there already is thin room for error. And by the looks of it, Justin Fields causes too many. But there is plenty of time for him to turn it around, and I wouldn’t mind switching the narrative in a couple of weeks. For now, though, the Bears may be already looking toward the draft.
