The Bears have done a great job in rebuilding this team. With a roster that is truly a season away from making a big splash around the league, Bears fans are soaking up what it feels like for this franchise to do something right. From Season 3, the Bears had one goal in mind: compete. Obviously, they did not have the roster to do that right away. But after drafting, trading, and developing their players, the Bears are in a perfect position for years to come.

The Bears have improved both offensively and defensively throughout the years, no more than this season. The Bears under Shedeur have already exceeded offensively with the total passing yards being ranked 12th in the league after consecutive seasons being ranked at the very bottom. And this is with some inconsistent offensive play. Imagine them after they learn to play with each other. With the addition of CeeDee to line up next to Xavier Worthy, and Gabe Davis, this will be a deadly air attack in the coming weeks as the late push for a wildcard position intensifies. Rookie Tight End, Oscar Delp, has shown enough to let Coach Prime take a shot at him, allowing him to be TE1 on the team. The offensive line has been average, but with this explosive receiving core, their life will be a lot easier as quick reads will be the name of the game for Shedeur. Not to mention that they have Cam Akers in the backfield. Plus Sheudeur can use his legs, so I expect this offense to be very explosive.

Very early in the season, they were ranked #1 defensively. Although they have taken a step back, they are still top ten in the league. On the Defensive side, some changes were made. 2nd year CB Max Melton has officially made the switch to starting at FS, as the departure of Jaquan Brisker made the change possible. TJ made the switch to ROLB as the departure of Shaquille Leonard left a void in the position. The Bears mentality with the team is “next man up” which is why they always find key needs in the Draft. They always seem to find young prospects that showcase everything they look for and mold them to be the best versions of themselves. #54 Travon Walker, aka Baby Urlacher, is ready to step up. Don’t forget about Odafe Oweh who is ready to showcase his talents along with that explosive speed.

I have been very impressed with their defensive players. Moving Parsons shows that they have a defensive game plan that he could not help them achieve. Look for the Bears to get even better defensively as they can run their true defense without having to worry about upsetting the best Right End in the league. The Bears do battle with inconsistency but have shown signs of being a true contender as soon as next year. In their game against the undefeated Bengals, the Bears made some costly mistakes that let the game slip away. Honestly, that has been the story of the Bears season so far. One less bad read, one less defensive mistake, one less missed tackle and the Bears could have a completely different record. Nonetheless, they have enough to make a remarkable playoff push. Go Bears!
