The Patriots beat the red-hot Jets this week. Wow! The Patriots hired a new head coach in the middle of the season and he has done a phenomenal job. That being said, no one saw the Patriots traveling to the Jets’ new stadium and pulling off the upset. Don’t quote me, but we may be looking at the passing of the torch when it comes to whose division the AFC East is. Now before you tell me I’m tripping, let’s take a deep dive into this team.

Since the arrival of Head Coach Rosco, the Patriots are 5-2. Not only that, but they are 3-1 in division games. This was without a great quarterback (although Kenny Pickett did make his debut a week ago against the Cowboys) and a full season. And to be able to produce this fast. To be able to make such a quick turnaround means that the guys in that lockerroom have bought in. The Patriots now play with some grittiness that we have not seen them play with since the Brady days. That may seem like an exaggeration until you watch them play. Look no further than last week against the New York Jets. On paper, there was no way that the Jets (10-2 at the time) would lose to the Patriots (4-8 at the time). With Kenny Pickett now on the team, the Patriots are even more of a threat. And honestly, they would have a completely different record if they had a good quarterback, let alone the Head Coach that they have now.

The Jets were extremely frustrated in the lockerroom, even taking it to social media, but that frustration may last as long as Rosco is the Head Coach of the Patriots. In both meetings between the two, the game was very close. I keep mentioning it because it is very important to note, the Patriots did not have a quarterback in that first game. I am not saying the division will be the Patriots’ next season, but I am saying that they have a really good chance. Go, Patriots!
