The Panthers have won two NFC Championships in the past two seasons. And although they didn’t win one of those Super Bowls, it was still very impressive. Right before the season started though, the Panthers were without a Head Coach. Fortunately, they would hire a Head Coach days before their first NFL game.
So to say that the Panthers would struggle for a little seems like a reasonable thing. Imagine all of your schemes changing and having to learn something completely new in a matter of days. It can take a whole season and an offseason for a team to get comfortable with the new style of offense and defense, let alone a few days. So yes, the Panthers struggled. So much, that not even the division looked like clinchable. And the playoffs, well for a while that seemed like a far-fetched idea. Bryce Young was looking like a deer in the headlights and the Panthers were an embarrassment.
However, if you were a person to just look at the stats and scores, you would not see what I see in this Panthers squad. If this team gets in the playoffs, they will cause havoc. I’m talking about a playoff bracket crusher. This team lost two tough games against two of the best teams in the league (Titans and 49ers), but what they showcased was incredible. Bryce Young is back to the player we had seen in his first two seasons and the offense is booming because of it. The trio of Young, Barkley, and Metcalf proves too much for defenses. The Panthers are back, and offensively, they are better than before.
Fortunately for the Panthers, the remainder of their schedule is pretty easy. They go up against the Patriots, Lions, Bucs, and Dolphins. I see the Panthers sweeping all four games and clinching a playoff berth. And when they do clinch, the NFC should be in panic mode. Because I’m telling you, this team is DANGEROUS.
