This interview was recorded before the start of week 7:*

Interviewer: Nice to finally meet the man behind a gritty and resilient Jets team. Sitting at the top with a 6-0 record, how does it feel knowing the obstacles you guys have had to start the season?

Jets Head Coach: Man, it feels great, but it’s just like you said, we are gritty and persistent. The locker room is a great one to be in. We work hard every day. Wherever we step foot we take that mentality, whether at practice or in a game.

Interviewer: Watching you guys play with such intensity is fun to watch. I can’t imagine the practices! Actually, tell me about the practices. I know you guys work hard, but do you tell them to relax a little bit? I mean you surely don’t want them getting hurt. I guess I’m asking how you balance practicing with intensity while also ensuring you guys are 100% come game time

Jets Head Coach: Yeah we do go hard in practice. I do have to tell them to cool it off a little bit, but we also have fun watching intense battles like Sauce vs. Garrett and Gipson vs. Reed. These guys work hard and they make sure to listen to me when I tell them to not overwork themselves, but I also understand that guys in that locker room work to become the best version of themselves.

Interviewer: Makes sense and daily battles like those will only make those players better. You guys were featured on Snypz once again and won again. Watching the game, you guys looked like you have done 1000 reps. Every read was perfect. But I want to talk about defense. You guys slowed down a perfect qb-wr duo. Does this team pride themselves on defense or offense?

Jets Head Coach: I feel like my identity for years has been my offense. I think you guys can see it too seeing how we’ve been putting up points, but we have a defense that is ready to win a championship.

Interviewer: Speaking of the championship, who can actually put up a challenge against you guys? I mean seriously! You guys have been the most consistent thus far.

Jets Head Coach: I gotta say the Bengals, Rams, Colts, etc. There are a lot of teams out there that can put up a fight, especially in the NFC.

Interviewer: Any team can put up a fight, but against a resilient team like you guys, I don’t see any of them winning. Aaron Rodgers is coming back soon. Zach Wilson has been great. How much has Zach Wilson helped you guys? I know you guys are excited for Arod, but is there even a chance Zach Wilson starts again this year?

Jets Head Coach: I don’t think we will. He’s developing but at the same time, you don’t pick up 8 to put 8 on the bench. So barring anything happening again. Arod will start but I would keep looking into maybe next year or the year after. For now, when Arod comes back this is his squad. The one thing I will say is with Rodgers still being on the sideline, Wilson has been soaking up information like a sponge.

Interviewer: As trading opens up, are you looking to improve your team in any way?

Jets Head Coach: I mean we always look to improve, but I like the chances we have with the guys right here right now. We will still see what’s on the block of course and go from there.

Interviewer: Last question, and I thank you for your time. I know you want to go back out there in the film room with your guys. Obviously, the goal is to win a championship, and you guys have all the tools to win it, how would you handle not winning the championship? Because this is surely a championship or bust season, right?

Jets Head Coach: In this league, the goal is always to win a championship and with the roster we have I think it really should be championship or bust season. That being said, our focus is to make the playoffs which we haven’t done in years. So our focus is making the playoffs, and then we will go from there.
