Yikes! The Cinderella Story has come to an end. The Cleveland Browns beat the Patriots, eliminating the Patriots from playoff contention. The Patriots had a heck of a run after the hiring of their new head coach, even beating the division leader in the Jets. To end the season, the Patriots needed to win their last three games to get into the playoffs. They won the first two, beating the Texans and Falcons. And with one more game to go, the Patriots were looking like they were a lock to get in. I say that because they were rolling. They were on a five-game winning streak. And in must-win games, they proved that they could handle the pressure. However, tonight the moment was a little too bright for them.
Nonetheless, the future is bright. The Patriots are 8-3 after they hired Head Coach Roscoe, so best believe that they will be in the playoffs next season. Or will they? I’m actually not sure because of the team that just beat them. The Browns have had some unfortunate things like fumbles cost them so many games. Without those fumbles, the Browns could easily have been a playoff team. And with their defense improving, and already having one of the best offenses, they may be the ones to finally make the playoffs next season.
It’s back to the drawing board for both teams though. I expect both teams to come out swinging next year and truly make some noise in the AFC. Have fun in Cancun!
