Ridder Rumors?!?!

Ridder was told last season he was the starter. After a bunch of subpar performances he was benched by journey man Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke had some success but still the offense was a huge issue with the Falcons. Ridder got reinserted back into the starting lineup near the end of season and did not have much success. Coach Smith ensured him he was the starter going into the 24-25 season. Smith then was fired and in came a new head coach. His first big signing was bringing in recently fired HC Mike Tomlin to be the DC. Ridder had not yet spoken to the new head coach and was on the edge of his seat during the draft where the Falcons owned the #8 pick. Ridder for sure thought they were going to take a QB if any of the top 3 options fell to them in Williams, Maye, or Daniels. With the 8th pick the Falcons took the speedy 6’3 WR from South Carolina Legette. Ridder and his whole family rejoiced at this notion further signifying his grip on the starting job. Atlanta also did not speak to any of the FA QBs. However in the 4th round at pick 19, Cam Ward for WSU sat there. His big arm strength and good size were intriguing to the Falcons. They pushed that card into the commissioner @BEARS so fast. Cam Ward Flew into ATL the next day where he sat in a meeting with the HC and Ridder. HC told both that the competition is open but Ridder had the edge due to experience. Ridder won the battle in the preseason but was told he has a very short leash. Will Ridder be able to keep the starting job or will he fail once again deliver on a promising season for this underrated Falcons squad who made big moves this offseason. There first test comes in Denver where the air is clear but sucks to breathe because you are to high in the air or maybe its all the weed that is smoked in the state. We will have updates following this game
