Last week Micah Parsons tweeted out that next week was time for the defense to show out and show out they did. The Cowboys defense did not let the Jags score a single point, holding Trevor Lawrence to 32 passing yards with 0 touchdowns and 1 pick. While better than the passing game, the run game for the Jags was also shutdown, with Travis Etienne averaging 3.8 ypc for 54 yards. On offense, Dak Prescott did not have to do too much, as he put on his game manager hat for this one, throwing for only 129 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 picks. Star rookie wideout still managed to put on a show despite the limited passing attack, finishing with 3 receptions for 33 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cowboys offense was carried by the run game, as both running backs for the Cowboys had amazing statlines. Tony Pollard had 20 carries for 104 yards and rookie runningback Treveyon Henderson had only 7 carries but averaged 8.1 ypc to get 57 yards. Many people were left questioning the Cowboys decision to draft him after week 1, when he saw 0 snaps, but if the Cowboys run game continues to be this explosive, it may pay off.
