In the week 3 matchup between the Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints, the Saints came out on top at home 31-22 on the back of a breakout game from rookie second round pick Trey Benson from Florida State. When asked after the game what allowed him to produce at such a high level, Benson attributed “Just a great game plan that got me in space and let me do my thing. Coach Pingis really is a genius and his candy crush skills have really translated to the field as a playcaller.” The game could have been even bigger if Benson could have finished his longest run of the game with a touchdown, but was chased down from behind which led to touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Melton to tight end Juwan Thompson. The locker room after the game was very high energy as this team that no one thought would amount to anything is now 2-1 and on a two game winning streak. One person unhappy with the state of things however is quarterback Derek Carr who signed a massive deal with the Saints last offseason, but just one season later has been usurped by rookie quarterback Joe Melton. Carr was unavailable for comment as he was too busy counting his money and calling his teamates “plebs”. It doesn’t seem like Derek Carr will see the field any time soon and may not be long for the team, but that doesn’t seem to be of any concern to him as he seems to have pulled off the biggest heist in the NFL since Brock Osweiler for the Denver Broncos.
