In Week 6 GOTW, the Cowboys took on division rival Commanders to try to bring the season to 6-0. This was a bit of trap game, as all 18 analysts voted that the Cowboys would walk out with a victory. However, the Cowboys dominated the game, with a final score of 48-22. MVP candidate Dak Prescott finished with 273 passing yards to go along with 4 TDS and 1 interception. He now has 18 TDS to 3 interceptions on the season. The Cowboys other MVP candidate Tony Pollard, finished with 118 yards and a TD bringing his season total to 10. He also added 1 reception which was his first receiving TD of the season.
Star Rookie wideout Jalen McMillan had another great game, this time without WR1 Ceedee Lamb, finishing with 5 receptions for 95 yards and a TD and Brandin Cooks added 5 receptions for 80 yards and TD. Now rumors say Brandin Cooks has not been happy this season with his production, leading to him ask Coach Ben Johnson to attempt to get him at least 100 yards in a game which Ceedee Lamb was not playing in. While he still had a productive game, he did not achieve his milestone, causing an altercation between him and coach. Could this lead to less playing time down the road or potentially more targets going his way?
The number 1 ranked defense held their own as well, led by Star DBs Daron Bland and Trevon Diggs, who combined for 3 interceptions. However, it was Leighton Vander Esch who stole the show, picking off Sam Howell and returning the pick for a TD. Next week the Cowboys take on AFC North leader Bengals, which should be a good one.
