The Indianapolis Colts have just sent Shaquille Leonard and a 3rd-round pick to the Chicago Bears for Darnell Mooney.
This trade comes after two games where Jonathan Taylor has had less than 50 yards rushing, exposing the Colts for their lack of passing offense. The Colts seem to be trying to surround Anthony Richardson with wide receivers. Adding Mooney, they now have Michael Pitman and Joshua Downs. Although their record is 8-2, no one is worried about the Colts, who have lived off their defense this whole season. The Colts hope this move can help them produce on offense.
For the rebuilding Bears, they not only get a pick, but they get a great linebacker and leader in Leonard. Hopefully, Leonard can help the defense and the Bears’ locker room. With the recent trade with Justin Fields being revoked, Fields must play the season knowing that his team no longer wants him. How will that affect his play? Do the Bears still move on from him? It is no secret that the Bears are still making moves leading up to the draft, where they hope they can draft a franchise QB.
