with the Super Bowl Champ DAL

Congratulations on winning Dallas’s first Super Bowl since 1996 and on top of that running the table and going UNDEFEATED through out Regular Season and Playoffs. Explain to us how you pulled this off?

DAL (P) – First of all thank you. Really it just boiled down to being consistent every week. Every week training was the same intensity and each game plan was prepared with the same intensity, whether we were versing a great team or not so great team.

Looking back, Dallas pretty much dominated the whole season. Was there any game that you can look back at and be like “holy crap, we are in trouble”?

DAL (P) – 3 games come to mind. Firstly in week 3, the Tampa Bay Bucs had a lead going into halftime before both coaches got into a fist fight while running to the locker rooms. It got so out of hand that the Buccaneers coach resigned while in the locker room and the Cowboys were handed the victory. Week 8 against the 49ers. The coaching staff did not prepare the players well at all and it showed, as the Cowboys were held scoreless in the first half, however a halftime speech from Coach Ben Johnson helped to rally the troops and the Cowboys squeaked out a 1 point victory. The Super Bowl. Any Cowboys fans who watched the start of that game was left shocked, the Bills looked completely dominant and took a early lead. However as demonstrated many times during the season, never count out the Cowboys.(edited)

Who is the MVP for the Dallas Cowboys this year?

DAL (P) – There were many great performers this season for the Cowboys, however I will narrow it down to a MVP on each side of the ball. For the offense it was Tony Pollard. After signing a big extension during the off season, he carried the Cowboys offense, finishing with over 2200 total yards and 23 TDs. For the defense you could give it to either Daron Bland or Micah Parsons, but I lean towards Bland, who finished the season with 9 interceptions.

After going 20-0, how does Dallas stay motivated to do this again?

DAL (P) – After a season like that, we will have a target on our back next season, so the motivation will just be trying to go 20-0 again in what will most likely be a tougher season. The players know that winning just one Super Bowl is not the mission and will maintain their focus throughout the season.

The one thing about having Super Bowl players is everybody wants to cash in. Dallas is in “cap hell” at the moment. They are 40 million over the cap and probably going to have to make some tough decisions this year. What are some of the moves this team is looking at to reload and go for it again?

DAL (P) – For the moment we are content with our cap situation as have some older players on big contracts and some players who will have their contracts expire in a few years. That being said the GM for this team is known for making trades, and Dak Prescott is playing on the franchise tag and could possibly be traded if the GM feels the need to alleviate the issue.
