Lodolo Sets the New Record

Reds Pitcher Nick Lodolo (1-0) set a new Red’s record for strikeouts in a game with 19 against the Kansas City Royals clearing Noodles Hahn(1901), Jim Maloney(1963) and Ron Villone (2000) who all had 16 strikeouts respectively. The Reds collected 18 hits in route to a 9-0 win with TJ Friedl, Johnathan India(1 HR) and Tyler Stevenson leading the way with 3 hits each. On the other side Garrett Hampson lead the way with 2 hits with Michael Massey getting the other one. The Royals started Cole Ragans who was lifted after 4 innings giving up 3 runs, giving the ball to Carlos Hernandez who went 2 innings giving up 4, before they gave the ball to Will Smith to pitch the rest of the game giving up 2 runs.
