We all saw the Seahawks fall in the playoffs. Geno Smith was largely blamed, and rightfully so. Before the playoffs started, rumors spread that the Seahawks Front Office was already looking for his placement. And it didn’t take long for the Hawks to find that replacement in the offseason. Jordan Love, former Packer, will now suit up to play in a Seattle Seahawk uniform.

The Seahawks sent Sam Howell, 2025 and 2026 second-round picks, along with 2025 4th and 7th-round picks for Jordan Love.

Jordan Love did not have a great season. 35 touchdowns to 32 interceptions. The Packers were not a fan of that play, especially after giving him a huge contract. The NFC North was probably the worst in the league, and all the Packers would have needed was for him to play up to standard to win it. I’m being told that both the player and the team did not leave on good terms for those reasons. But in a new system, I expect Love to perform at a much better level. He will have more help around him and be in a place where the culture is already established.

For Sam Howell, he did not play last season because he was a backup to Geno Smith. With the Packers being in a rebuild, I hope that he will be given real-time to develop as a player. It will be interesting to see if the Packers draft a Quarterback late in the draft. If they don’t, I believe that will do wonders for his confidence. There is nothing worse than having a bad performance and knowing that there is a backup player ready to replace you.

That being said, the Packers wanted picks. Maybe way more than they wanted Sam Howell. We will see how great their scout team is tonight at 9 PM EST when the Draft takes place.
