With Free Agency finally completed and the NFL Draft just around the corner. The Tennessee Titans came into the draft with a plan to bolster their roster with a couple of players that would make it so the team wouldn’t have to force so much draft capital on a bunch of positions of need for the team. They weren’t able to get all of their targets through the free agency but was still able to make do with a good haul for the team in this next coming season. On the offensive side, the team looked at Amari Cooper in the first round of signing and saw that he wanted to come to this team on a cheaper deal than most would expect, signing a 1 yr. $14M deal to get looks from the Mayo Man himself. With the excellence of Chig last season, the team was looking for a good second sting TE who could come in and play similar to Chig himself when he would need a break, this led them to targeting Tommy Tremble, who wanted to join the team on a 3 yr. $15M contract that will allow him to get some more freedom to show off his skills in a better blue outfit himself. In the final stages of the draft and the team needing to get a serviceable olinemen. The team went out and signed LG Patrick Mekari to a 1 yr. $8.1M contract to serve as the teams RG for this season. On the defensive side, the team targeted more players that would be able to fill in for the positions that did not have the greatest of players by the end of the season. They first targeted LOLB Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, who wanted to play in the cold more than the hot with him inking a 2 yr. $11.4M contract to serve as a great outside LB threat to teams after both of the Titans OLB’s have gotten older. With a heavy need to improve the Ends of the dline, this made the team go for the LE Cam Sample who wanted to join us on a 1 yr. $5.3M contract that will make it a prove it year for him on the team. With the only good S on the roster being Amani Hooker, the team looked towards the veteran presence in SS Jimmie Ward, who gladly joined our team on a 1 yr. $7.8M contract that will see him start a lot in case we don’t get any S in the draft. With the final stage coming down to a close, the team decided to take a chance on the K Joey Slye with a 2 yr. $5M contract that will allow him to bring his strong leg to Tennessee to boot bombs into the uprights for the next 2 seasons.
