Week 1 of the regular season had the Titans feeling hopeful for team to get a playoff spot with their competitiveness in the AFC. Sadly the first week wasn’t the best start to this Will Levis didn’t have the best game in this one but it is hard to blame him for it when he spent almost every passing snap with pressure blaring in his face, most of the time it being 2–4 guys before he even has a chance to breathe. As a result of the oline in this game, Will went 9-21 with 153 yds, 1 td-2 ints, and 4 sacks taken. The two picks weren’t the greatest of throws but when you have 3-4 people in your face just before the throw, it is hard for your pass to be delivered in the perfect spot. Another thing that didn’t help was the amount of dropped passes that the team had, Will made at least 5 great passes to his teammates that they decided to drop which hindered the offensive momentum with how they stopped the drives. Tony Pollard was great in the rushing attack but wasn’t utilized as much as he wanted when the team got down quick in this game and almost every drive in the first half was done before it even got a chance to develop. Tony had 7-29 for a 4.1 ypc but would have liked to have gotten at least double digits in this loss. Amari Cooper suited up for the Titans for the first time in the regular season and he performed just liek expected when the team targeted him in the off season. He had 2 catches for 61 yds and 1 td in his debut. Chig Okonkwo was a solid contributor for the offense whenever the ball was thrown his way, catching 3-54. The rookie receiver Jaylin Noel had some ups and downs in the loss today. He caught the ball once for a 33 yd reception that was able to give the Titans a fg before half, the bad news was that he had a lot of drops in this one, a couple of them being right in his bread basket that he was unable to come down with. The oline had 3 sacks given up but had a bunch of pressure put onto Levis in the loss this week, the rookie Josh Conerly had a tough game to start his career when he had to try and stop TJ Watt on the right side, he had let Watt tally 2 sacks in the game himself. The defensive side of the ball played nicely but sadly wasn’t able to carry the team in this one, after the first drive ended up with 6, the defense played a lot more aggressively which forced the Steelers into fgs and punts. They also were the spark that started the comeback for the Titans when the P Ryan Stonehouse kicked the ball all the way to the 1, which led to the next play where the team got to Fields and forced him to throw the ball out of a sack which Kenneth Murray was able to grab just in time to get the p6. The rookie Ashton Gillotte has already made an impact for the team with him being the first one to Fields in the game for a half sack that he shared with Myjai Sanders in the loss. Although the team wasn’t that successful on offense in this game, it was not due to the special teams with Tyreik McAllister getting huge plays on the kickoff that would set the offense up with great starting field position. Tyreik ended the game with 165 yds on 5 different returns averaging 33 yds a return. The team is looking to bounce back next week with their first of 3 divisional matchups in a row with them first facing the Colts.
