In what was a debut for the Rams new playbook the game got off to an ugly start. They would find themself losing 17-3 during the second. Focused on a run game they decided to stray from it just long enough to get back into the game. They were able to come out in spread and hit Puka for a long TD getting them back into it. The Rams found their groove and scored 35 unanswered points winning this one 38-17.
On offense Stafford had his worse game of his career in terms of completions. He went from having four incompletions on the year in total to having 11 in this game alone. Going 8/19 213 yards and 2TDS it was an ugly one from him. However, as mentioned earlier the run game was the focal point for the Rams. Once they got themselves back in the game they let loose. Kyren williams finished with 9 for 109 and TD amounting 5 broken tackles where three came on a 54 yard run TD. Chuba Hubbard had 13 for 78. Blake Corum 1 for 15 and a TD. Even Duggan had a carry with 1 second left before the half to get a TD. Rams were happy with how their run game turned out against a stoutly rated niners defense and hope they can continue this momentum to better control their games, as we all know Stafford can sling it when asked.
On defense they kept CMC modest at 10 rushes for 57 yards and a TD. Through the air they were able to hold the niners to a 23.1 passer rating amounting to 8/19 0TD and 3INT. I can’t say the user was better in this one but the boys came to play. After some film watching with the Chiefs they look to carry improvement into their Week 4 against the division rival Cardinals.
