Henderson, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have decided that during the off-season OTA’s, and mini camps rookie wideout Dont’e Thompson Jr has outperformed some of the vets on the team to take the #1 wideout position for the Raiders. Geno has been impressed with the knowledge Thompson jr has shown, and the will to win matchups daily in practice.
We asked Raiders coach what he thought, and this is what he had to say.
Coach Outlawz – “ We came in not knowing what our wideout situation was going to look like, but the continuous grind from Thompson jr made it clear that the kid is ready to suit up and be our #1 featured receiver. We did acquire a familiar face in Amari Cooper, but this is Thompson jr’s receiver room. We have a lot of explosive plays ready for the rookie, and we can’t wait to see how he does on live contact in week 1 vs the Patriots.”
It looks like the Raiders are all in on this rookie this season, we will continue to monitor the play as the season progresses.
