There was inside information that the Colts were trying to get TJ Watt from the Steelers, but that deal did not fall through. The Colts did not stop making calls to help their defensive line and have reached a deal with the Giants. The Colts sent Quenton Nelson, Donte Jackson, 2024 2nd and 4th-round pick, and a 2025 2nd-round pick for Dexter Lawrence II.

For the Colts, they add a huge piece to their defense. They now have a line of Paye, Lawrence, Stewart, and Brian Burns. A defense that leads the league in interceptions will also be a threat for sacks following this trade. The Colts still have issues on offense that they have yet to really address other than getting Mooney. Was this trade really necessary?

For the Giants, they get much-needed help on the oline with Quenton Nelson. This could lead to a better performance from Daniel Jones and may influence the Giants to run more with Barkley. They also get a great cornerback in Donte Jackson to help out their defense while also getting picks to set them up for this upcoming draft. The Giants have been on a slippery slope recently, and maybe this trade can help them regain their momentum.
