This interview was taken after the Cardinals’ loss to the Lions in the Divisional Round
Interviewer: Coach, you guys had a great season. I know this was a tough loss, but surely you see this as a step in the right direction?
Coach: Thanks. Um, for sure it was a step in the right direction. Just tough right now, you know? But we’re still a young team and have a lot of time to grow. We’re gonna use this game as fuel to work harder in the offseason and come back stronger next year.
Interviewer: Kyle had a tough day. What do you tell a guy like that, who is most assuredly going to put the game on himself?
Coach: Well, you know everyone has games like this. Sucks it had to come in this type of game. I would tell him the truth. If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have been there. He has led us all year long. And if we were in that position again, I wouldn’t hesitate to put my trust in him again. He is our franchise quarterback and will lead us to the promise land.
Interviewer: Coach I know you want to get in that locker room with your guys last question: How do you plan on getting this team to the next level? What more does this team need?
Coach: We’re gonna watch a lot of film a lot of the season to see where we lacked, and make decisions off that. Overall feel like we were a good team, just played a bad game when it mattered. We have the experience now, so watch out.
