There is nothing like a fresh start to the season. Every team gets a clean slate. A chance to right their wrongs. To rise to greatness. To become the greatest. And to be Super Bowl Champions. And there is one team I have my eye on: The Pittsburgh Steelers.
Since the hiring of their new head coach, the Steelers are yet to be beaten in their tough AFC North Division. Kenny Pickett, George Pickens, and Najee Harris have been able to change the Steelers’ culture. They have become relentless. They have become a serious threat. And be sure of this: they are coming. They are hungry. And with a new season full of fresh meat, the Steelers have prepared a table for all.
Talking to the Steelers head coach, he told me he felt like he got just the pieces this team needed. Barret Carter, the linebacker out of Clemson, was the 10th overall pick made by the Steelers. Steelers head coach told me, “The linebacker position was a huge weakness for us last year. With Carter, we bring in a speedy linebacker who is and will be a complete game-changer for us. He will help solidify our defense. Don’t be surprised when he wins Defensive Rookie of the Year or even Defensive Player of the Year”.
Next, Coach highlighted Calen Bullock, the cornerback out of USC. He told me, “The Defensive Back position was another weakness we had last year. And to my surprise, the best athlete in the draft was still sitting there at pick 12. We did not hesitate to draft him.”
And I haven’t mentioned the great TJ Watt or Minikah. Two superstars who have a complete team around them now. It’s time. A great staff. Great teammates. No excuse. The Steelers have a history of success. Now it’s time for this team to add to that history. Lets goooooo.
