There are only three undefeated teams after last week, and the 49ers are one of them. This team was a huge disappointment last year, not even making the playoffs, but this year they have been the team we all expect them to be. They not only have a great defense (3rd in rankings), but they are also second in the league in points. Don’t quote me, but we might be looking at the team that is coming out of the NFC.
Brock Purdy is leading the league in passing yards with 1694 yards. He also has 15 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions. To win a Super Bowl, you need a quarterback who can, at the least, take care of the football. Brock Purdy is not only taking care of the football, but he is shredding defenses with his great passing. Of course having McCaffrey, Kittle, and Samuel helps, but credit to Purdy for taking another huge step this year, making a case for MVP.
But out of the three undefeated teams (Steelers, Raiders, 49ers), the 49ers raise the most questions for me. Having a poor record last year, they were blessed with an easier schedule than most. They did get a huge win against the Packers, but so far their opponents have not been top dawgs. This is not their fault and props to them for taking advantage of their schedule, but I really don’t know where they truly rank amongst the league. This week we might get another clue as they go against the Detroit Lions. Go 9ers!
