When I first heard about this trade, I actually thought it was a joke. I first heard about it on Twitter or X is what they call it now. Didn’t believe it. Went to YouTube to see if my favorite NFL channel was talking about it. They were, but I still didn’t believe it. So I rushed to Micah’s Instagram and he had already posted a goodbye letter to Dallas. The funny thing is I still don’t believe it. This may be the craziest trade in NFL History. Micah Parsons has been traded to the Bears for picks on picks. Dallas sent Parsons for the Bears 2025 1st-round, 2025 2nd-round, 2025 3rd-round, 2026 1st-round, 2026 2nd-round, 2026 3rd-round. What in the world!
For the Cowboys, who are 2-7, this move indicates that their rebuild continues. They have their franchise QB in Drake Maye, and now it is time to work out the rest of the team. Many may see the trade as lopsided right now even with all the picks. But in a couple of seasons, we may look back and see this trade as a huge win for the Cowboys. If they continue to lose games this year, and the Bears continue to lose, they could be looking at two top-5 picks in the upcoming draft.
For the Bears, they get a complete game-changer in Micah Parson who is only 25! Offenses will be hesitant just by his presence alone. This trade indicates that, maybe not this year, but surely next year they believe they have a team that can compete. Trading all those picks could cost them if the Bears don’t start winning games, but for now, this trade looks like a complete steal for the Bears.
