The Broncos started last season on a roll. They had a New Head Coach and Justin Fields. They were one of the top teams in the NFL until controversy. The Head Coach got caught gambling as well as doing some illegal things that can not be shared publicly. Of course that led to the immediate firing, leaving the Broncos without a Head Coach. They did have an interim coach, who was their defensive coordinator, but things just were not the same. The Broncos would lose the rest of their games in the regular season, but still made the playoffs. They would then lose to the #2 Jets in the Wildcard Round.

But there is a positive side to this. Over the offseason, the Broncos had a lot of meetings with potential Head Coaches. And in their search, they found a gem in Coach Kelly. Coach Kelly is known to be an “all chips on the table” guy meaning he will take big risks if there is a chance at winning the ultimate prize. He has also been given the role of General Manager and has already made some win-now moves.

The first move was to get T.J. Watt. The Broncos would send their 2026 2nd and 3rd round picks, and their 2027 first to the Steelers for Watt. Watt is not in his prime, but he still does have a couple more seasons of playing great football. The next move the Broncos would make was to get Myles Garrett. The Broncos would send Deion Jenkins (their pick at 19) and Gabe Jacas to the Colts for Garrett. And if you don’t know what that means, it means they have Garrett and Watt on the same team. Wow! Pair that with Jared Verse and they are cooking up something serious. They still have Patrick Surtain II and Damarri Matthis in the secondary so this defense is looking like it will be one of the top in the league.

The offense isn’t a slouch either. After being traded from the Bears, Justin Fields was having a career year before the Head Coach controversy. Runningback TreVeyon Henderson cracked over 1000 rushing yards last year in his rookie season. And the man of last season, Barion Brown, had an outstanding rookie campaign. He already put his name up there with the best wide receivers.

So when you really look at it, this outcome of the season will fall on the Head Coach. The roster is there. Can he bring the guys together to achieve the ultimate goal? To get the ultimate prize?
