One of the best things about football is seeing a guy who has been bashed. Someone who has been blamed for a team’s poor performances. Someone who has been called a bust. Seeing that player go somewhere else and change the narrative. Seeing them shut up all the haters. And honestly, making the previous organization look bad. And one man who is doing that right now is Justin Fields. Justin Fields had faced tons of criticism as the Bears Quarterback. And honestly, he deserved some of the criticism. In Season 3 of the OGCFM era, he had a 20 touchdown-35 interception ratio as the Bears were low in the standings. In Season 4, it was much of the same. Late in the season, Justin Fields was even benched. And with the draft coming up, it looked as though Fields time with the Bears was coming to an end. And after a trade with the Broncos and the Bears, it was official. The Broncos sent their #1 overall pick to the Bears for Justin Fields.

The Broncos just came from a terrible quarterback situation of their own. They signed Russel Wilson to a supermax deal and things did not work out for them at all. They too, ended up benching their franchise quarterback in Wilson and drafted Bo Nix as their quarterback. That did not work out for them either. With a new head coach on board and Justin Fields on the block, the Broncos took a swing for Fields. It cost them the #1 overall pick, but so far it is looking like a great trade for them. Justin Fields has led the Broncos to a 2-0 start. And by the looks of it, he is having fun out there. Rumors spread that the offensive game plan of the Bears made it hard for Fields to just play football. Now with the Broncos, he is looking like the quarterback we expected when he was drafted. With 688 yards and 8 touchdowns already on the year, he is already making the Bears look like they were the problem.

Their pick that they used in that trade, Sanders, did not have a great game in any way. The Bears offense still looks like they have some work to do and it looks like it is not a QB issue. This article is not to tear down the Bears but to lift Justin Fields’ name. A name that has been heavily criticized for the past years. He is balling out and he deserves the respect. Go Broncos.
