The Browns are now 5-5 after a huge win against the struggling Chargers. The AFC playoff race is wild and the Browns must win every game they are supposed to win. So a win over the then 2-7 Chargers was a must. They executed. Dak Prescott played almost perfect football and the Browns defense showed how much better they have gotten over the years. There were rumors that the Browns would bench Prescott and start Dante Moore after the Browns’ slow start. Fortunately for them, they did not. Unfortunately for the rest of the league, Dak and the Browns’ offense will be back on top of the league in terms of offense.
The Browns currently sit at 8th in the AFC behind the Colts and Chiefs. I think it is safe to say that the Colts will not be making the playoffs, so let’s jump the Browns to the 7th seed. I believe that they would be able to maintain that spot with the inconsistencies of the teams below them. And unless the Bengals somehow start to fold at the end of the season, we would have the Bengals and the Browns for the third time this season. They have not played their second matchup this season, but their first one was a banger. And like any divisional game, it is so hard to win. If they were to meet in the playoffs, could the Browns pull off the upset? Honestly, it is way too early for that conversation, but the thought of the Browns finally getting over the hump and making the playoffs excites me. I am a huge fan of Coach Procana and I hope that he can continue to lead the Browns in the right direction. Go Browns!
