I think it’s time. Time to shine the light on a quarterback who has been tearing up the league. And honestly, he has been doing it since his rookie year. That quarterback is Cameron Ward.
Last season, Cam was top-5 in passing yards while missing a few games. Insane! He threw over 5000 yards with 46 touchdowns as a rookie. He did not get the spotlight he deserved. This year, I will make it my mission to give him his flowers. So far, Ward has 1558 passing yards and 15 touchdowns as he tries to help the Giants win the division for the second year in a row. Last week against the Eagles, Ward threw for 379 yards and 6 touchdowns. The best part of his performance: 0 interceptions.
I got to talk to him at the end of that game and he told me that he feels he is the best quarterback in the league. Only in his second year, that is a bold take in a league full of talent. Ward still has a lot to prove. Can he lead the Giants to another playoff berth? Can he get them out of the first round? And could he possibly lead them to the Super Bowl? When you say things like you are the best, you have to prove it.
So far though, he is making the Giants look like geniuses for drafting him. I’m not going to lie, I was a doubter. But now I’m joining the Cameron Ward bandwagon. Go Giants.
