The Chargers taught us last year that they are a resilient team. Last year, they started the year strong and then went through a tough skid. But like we have come to see, they fight back. This season has been the exact opposite of what we expected of the Chargers. Granted, they did lose some key pieces, but they have had some big lows. One of them was tying with the winless Broncos. So why are we talking about them? Well, last night they beat a championship contender in the Cardinals 33-27 to improve their record to 5-5-1.

Herbert had a great day in taking care of the ball, but the real MVP is the man the Chargers acquired a day before the trade deadline, Christian McCaffrey. On 8 attempts! 8 attempts! This man went for 112 yards and a touchdown. You can’t teach what he brings to a football team. The Chargers defense also came up with big 3rd down stops, showing signs of the defense we saw last year.

The truth is that the Chargers may only be able to afford one loss. Who knows, maybe that tie will help them down the road. The odds are against them, but they have proven time and time again, that they are resilient. I talked to the Chargers’ Head Coach after the game and that was the exact word he used to describe his team: resilient. I truly believe they will do the impossible again. Bolt up!
