In a matchup that has always been a good one over the years, the NFL was gifted to see another one. The Chiefs and Bills put on a show! Drake Maye would outduel Mahomes throwing for 357 yards and 4 touchdowns. Pacheco picked up where he left off last season with 129 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns with 1 receiving touchdown. A back and forth game that was tied 28-28 with one minute left. But Mahomes would try to force the ball upfield when he had Pacheco wide open underneath, leading to an interception. The Bills had a great field position and would win by a field goal.
Pacheco showed frustration toward Mahomes after the game, leading to a rumored physical altercation. In the postgame interview, Mahomes tried to downplay it saying that “It was nothing. Just two guys who really want to win.” It is only week 1 but I will definitely monitor this situation. In my opinion, Pacheco has been more consistent. The Chiefs have a history of choking in the playoffs, so I’m sure there has to be something going on in the locker room. The Chiefs will have a chance to make up for their loss with a matchup against the Seahawks.
I still predict that the Chiefs will make the AFC Championship game this season as long as everything is fine like Mahomes said. I believe this team will finally get over the hump this season and shock the league. And this week, I predict they will blow out the Seahawks.
