The Chiefs killed it last season. So much that they even ended the undefeated streak of the Raiders. But once playoffs rolled around, it was an outright embarrassment. The Chiefs would lose very convincently to the Steelers. It was back to the drawing board. Well, not so fast. Following the loss, Travis Kelce shocked the world. He announced that last season was his last, as he and Taylor Swift were ready to take the next step and have kids. Of course, the Chiefs were happy for him, but losing such an irreplaceable talent was a tough pill to swallow.

The player trio that started the dynasty all were separated. Hill to the Dolphins. Kelce off to retirement. Not to mention the firing of Andy Reid two seasons ago. Which left one man. Patrick Mahomes. And no discredit to the rest of the players, but he is all you need. Patrick Mahomes has led the Chiefs to a 4-0 start. He has 892 passing yards with 9 touchdowns. He got paid the big bucks and he is showing why. He is a generational talent and I expect him to be in the MVP conversation at the end of the season. But the Chiefs have a balanced offense. They can pass. They can run. They can trust Mahomes to throw the ball. They can trust Isiah Pacheco to run the ball. Pacheco has 528 yards with 5 touchdowns so far on the season. Let me just say this: Pacheco is the most underrated running back in the league by far. No one mentions him with the best running backs, but if we are being honest, he is one of the most consistent players. He is the reason the Chiefs are ranked 2nd in rushing yards. He is part of the reason the Chiefs are ranked 4th in total offensive yards. Every night you know what you are getting out of him and that is a coach’s dream.

So far, they have played teams that are struggling. But coming up, they will face better talent. So the question still stands: Do the Chiefs have enough to beat the top teams? I’m not going to lie. That is one of the dumbest questions I have ever asked. I’m just trying to do my job. But we all know they can. It is only a matter of time. Go Chiefs.
