It was not supposed to end this way.

Anthony Richardson threw two interceptions all season long. But when it mattered most, he threw another. After the game, Richardson was seen crying with a towel over his face. During the postgame interview, he had this to say,

“I put it on me. The defense played great. The offense did the best it could going up against the best defense in the league: 1 minute to go and ball in my hands. I have to make a play. This one hurts, but I’ll be back and better. We will be back and better”.

The Colts had a great season going 15-2 and reaching the AFC Conference finals, but ended up losing against the division rival Titans. The Titans have been a pain to the Colts since the beginning, but this one hurts in the worst way. This should have been the year. They got Myles Garrett before the trade deadline and it looked like they had a chance to go all the way. But in the end, they will have to go back to the drawing board.

Head Coach of the Colts had this to say on the season,

“From the outside looking in, we did a great job. No one expected the Colts to be in the AFC Championship game 3 years ago. We have rebuilt this team very quickly and I know our future is bright. Some may say I have turned cocky, but I just believe in the guys in that locker room. Their discipline to show up every day is a coach’s dream. Anthony Richardson is taking this one hard, but I am extremely proud of him. Towards the end of the season, we decided to really let him take the offense in his hands and he did a great job. I look forward to allowing him to run the offense to start next season. And I won’t be surprised when he is the leagues MVP next season. Credit to the Titans. They played a great game. As for me and the coaching staff, we will spend countless hours on getting this team better. Thank you!”
