Last year, many Head Coaches voted that the Colts would take a step back next season due to their intended rebuild. The Colts sent away Richardson, Taylor, Garrett, and Parsons. Those guys were a huge reason that the Colts had made the AFC Championship game the last two seasons. But to start their rebuild, the Colts knew that they must ship those guys away to build for the future.
The Colts would send away Parsons to the Steelers for Tucker Culver and a buttload of picks. One of those picks was the 2nd round pick this season. A pick that they used to draft Louis Flanagan from Texas. Flanagan is expected to make an immediate impact. The rest of those picks are for the future. One of those picks (2nd) was just sent off to the Texans for Tank Dell.
The Colts would also send away Jonathan Taylor. They would send Taylor to the Vikings for Eric Guyton and two seconds (1 this year and 1 next year). They would use the second this season to draft Shon DuVall from Oregon. The Colts expect him to be a superstar receiver in the coming years.
The Colts would trade Garrett for Deion Jenkins (who the Broncos picked at 19) and Gabe Jacas. The Colts decided to go younger, but these players definitely have some promise.
Finally, the Colts would trade Anthony Richardson to the Falcons for pick 5, 3rd-Round, and next year 3rd and 4th. The Colts would use pick 5 to draft Arch Manning. Arch Manning was looked to be the best Quarterback in the draft and somehow he fell all the way down to the Colts. Peyton Manning has given his yes to allow Arch Manning to wear #18. The Colts believe that he will make this rebuild quicker than expected.
The Colts also have a new stadium. It is time for new beginnings. How will the new-look team stack against the rest of the league? Well, we will find out in Week 1 when the Colts go up against the Bengals.
