This might be a long season for the Colts. In the debut of the new stadium and Arch Manning, the Colts fell to the Bengals. As usual, the defense showed up, but the offense did not. At points in the game, Arch Manning just looked uncomfortable and frustrated. There were many occasions when he would get visibly upset with his teammates. Arch Manning did not play the best game himself. In fact, one of his throws was so inaccurate that it literally looked like he was trying to pass the ball to D.J. Ivey…who is on the other team. For the Colts to be successful this season, they will need so much more from the offense.

The Colts almost had a great comeback, but Manning made a predetermined read that was easily swatted down by the Bengals’ defense. After the game, Coach Isaiah looked very frustrated with his team. But like a good coach, he did not throw his guys under the bus during the postgame interview.

Interviewer: Coach, I know that this is a rebuilding process, but does a loss like this make you lose a little confidence in your guys?

Coach: Absolutely not! I believe that everyone who is on this team is here for a reason. Yes, we let some key guys go, but honestly, I believe that the guys on this team can do something special. Yes, it will be a long season. But I trust in myself and those guys in the locker room. We have never been a walk over and we won’t start being one.

Interviewer: Once again, this offense looks like one of the worst in the league. Do you think that has something to do with chemistry or…

Coach: It falls on me. I have to be better. I will be better. We will be better. Offensively, I have to find something that fits our team. I love Custis and I think he will be a star in this league, but he is not a Jonathan Taylor just yet. The type of offense we put out there falls on me.

The Colts will have to figure it out fast. As it looks like they will be at the bottom of their division with every team in the AFC South getting a win (assuming the Titans win). I’m sure this one hurts for the Colts, but hopefully, they can use it as a lesson. If they thought it was gonna be easy, tonight was a newsflash.
