After a tough loss to the Titans, the Colts locker room was heated. Rumors spread that Jonathan Taylor and Ceedee expressed frustration after the game. And just when the team could not get any more motivated, an article was made saying that the Titans had ownership over the Colts. And with the Cardinals next on the schedule, the Colts had one thing in mind: dominate.
Although the stats offensively don’t look eye-popping, it’s because the defense did most of the carrying. After a touchdown by Josh Downs, Isaiah Rodgers Sr., picked off Murray for 6. After that, two minutes before the half, Season 3 DPOY Rodney Thomas picked off Murray for 6 of his own. In the 2nd half, it was much of the same. In the 3rd quarter, Melvin Verner, a 4th-round steal, forced a fumble that Julius Brents took to the house. The game was all but over, but Grover Stewart wanted a piece of the pie, picking off Murray in the endzone. Also credit to Mazi Smith, a pickup in the Ceedee Lamb trade, who had 2 sacks. And Johnny Posey, a 7th-round 29th pick steal, had a sack of his own.
Once again though, Ceedee Lamb did not have many touches. After the game, he said, “We won the game. I was brought here to help them win. Tonight I wasn’t needed as much. I’m sure down the road, my name will be called. And be sure that I will answer. Credit to the defense who did a hell of a job. Proud of my teammates, so you guys can stop with the ‘Ceedee is not happy’ narrative. I’m happy to be a Colt, and I’m happy we got the victory”.
