This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Jacksonville Jaguars. This offseason the Jaguars focused on getting weapons to help Sunshine and the Jaguars offense. And in their first game, this offense was booming. You get a catch. You get a catch. And you get a catch. Rookie, J. Michael Sturdivant had 5 receptions with 62 yards. After the draft, the Jaguars said that they believed that he would be the steal of the draft. Rookie, Xavier Worthy had 5 receptions for 41 yards. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, required from the Seahawks trade in the offseason, had 4 receptions, 92 yards, with 2 touchdowns. 4th-round pick, Oronde Gadsden II had 2 receptions with 55 touchdowns. Trevor Lawrence could not wipe the smile off his face after today’s performance. Lawrence went 20-24 with 277 yards and 3 touchdowns (2 passing and 1 rushing). After the game, Lawrence said, “It feels great! Obviously, it’s only the first game, but we are already clicking as a unit. But I also want to shout out our defense. They did a great job tonight. Offense, defense, and special teams played great tonight and that’s why we won the game”. The Jaguars defense spoiled Caleb Williams’ debut by forcing 3 interceptions. As stated by the Head Coach in his first interview, he wants to build a team that loves to play defense. And today, they did just that. It looks really great for the Jaguars so far. Next week, they will play the Dallas Cowboys, in a game that is sure to be a good one.
