Malachi Nelson may be the 2nd best quarterback in the draft. However, in this draft, many teams won’t be trading up to draft him. So how long will the USC standout be waiting to hear his name called?
Rumors are swirling that the Packers will not be extending Jordan Love’s contract. Jordan Love feels that he is a franchise quarterback and has threatened to sit out if he is franchise-tagged. With that being said, the Packers could take Malachi Nelson on their pick which is currently around picks 17-20. Yes, all mock drafts have Nelson dropping that far so it is a real possibility. If that does not happen, Nelson may fall all the way down to pick 25 or worse to the Commanders. Sam Howell has performed really well this season, but Nelson could be the future of that franchise.
It hurts to say, but Malachi Nelson may be sitting for a while. But I believe that with the right franchise, he will be a huge steal.
