“Simple offense”
-Coach Sasuke
Although we tend to hate the cocky ones. Although we love to go for the underdog. Although we love to see the trash talker humbled, tonight was not the night. Coach Sasuke and the Saints did everything he said they would do. He said the Eagles had a predictable offense, and he was proved right. He said that the Eagles were not even close to their level, and he was proved right. He said they would blow them out, and he was proved right.
I talked trash about the “MVP” performance of Jayden Daniels. It would be unfair of me to not talk about the Assterclass Jalen Hurts gave us tonight. Missed read after missed read. Throwing into double coverage multiple times. Almost every time. Two interceptions. Maybe it should have just gone to Joe Mixon…
Or maybe the Saints deserve a lot of credit for that. An MVP and an MVP candidate had the worst games of their careers. There is a common denominator here whether we want to admit it or not. The Saints are really like that! No Derrick Carr, no problem. No Alvin Kamara (who was suspended), no problem. I have a suspicion that Kamara was in Taysom Hill’s body because I have never seen him play like that before. When a big play was needed, he picked up the phone. And when he didn’t know the answer, he would phone a friend named Chris Olave. Big catch after big catch. It wasn’t even fair out there.
Coach Sasuke has the chance to become the 2nd rookie Head Coach to win a Super Bowl. In the way: Coach Isaiah. Both Coaches have exchanged some unfriendly words with one another and now have the opportunity to quiet all the noise. More importantly, put their names where only the best are.
