The Panthers shocked the league this year. And not in a good way. Many expected them to take a huge step this year, especially after the addition of DK Metcalf. And for a few weeks, everything was spick and span. The Panthers looked untouchable. Bryce Young was an MVP candidate and the Panthers were exactly who we expected them to be. And then they fell. And great was their fall, going on a skid that saw them lose 4 of their 5 games. Many were quick to say that they were going to be sitting at home when the playoffs came back around. And honestly, it was fair to think that. They would have to win out the rest of their games starting week 13. And they still had to face a Saints team that already beat them and a Packers team that you can never sleep on.
But what if I told you they already got the hard part out of the way? What if I told you that they beat the Saints in week 13 and whooped the Packers last night? What if I told you they only had to beat the 6-9 Falcons and the 6-9 Buccaneers to get in? The Panthers are now only two wins away from being the scariest 7th seed we have ever seen! Go Panthers!
