After a tough loss to the Vikings last week, the Panthers became the talk of the league. Not in a good way. Humiliation is the best way to describe what took place last week. A blowout loss and critics screaming “Pretenders Not Contenders”.
This week though, the Panthers looked to shut the haters up for at least one more week. The head coach of the Panthers had this to say about the critics:
“You know critics & fans are going to say what they want, you just got to go out there and execute. I felt like we did just that against a very tough & physical team with a champion head coach there in Detroit” and that they did. The Panthers’ head coach also mentioned that his division is weak and that he GUARANTEES to make the playoffs. A very bold take only in week 5. Some may call it arrogance, or some may call it confidence. No matter what you call it, the Panthers handled business.
As trading opens up, the Panthers have said they feel there is room to improve, stopping the run especially. Brian Burns also is on the block, as rumors spread that he is looking for a deal the Panthers just aren’t willing to accept. There is always room for improvement, but as for tonight, the Panthers improved their record to 4-1. And oh yeah, they say they got their swagger back.
