Last night, in the Wildcard Round, the Packers shocked many. Going up against the #3 seed Vikings, who had beaten them twice this season, some were quick to give the Vikings the victory. Some did not even expect the game to be close. Which it wasn’t. However, the Packers were the ones dominating.
The game started like we expected. Jalen Milroe throwing a dot for a touchdown, something we have seen all year. Jordan Love throwing a pick, something he had done a lot at the beginning of the year. But what happened from there…man! Jalen Milroe would try to throw the ball underneath, getting hit as he threw which led to a pick-6. And after forcing a 3 and out, the Vikings sent their special teams out for a punt. Castro-Fields of the Packers decided that he wanted to make a name for himself. Blitzing from the left side, he was able to block the punt that was then picked up for the score. From there the game was over. The Packers’ defense continued to play great and the Vikings’ big weakness of defense was exposed.
Jalen Milroe showed that even with the success he had this season, he is still a rookie. He had two interceptions on the day and had a lot of overthrows. The Vikings offense did not look like the same offense we were praising at the beginning of the year. I’m sure that came from the nerves of the big game. The Vikings are still a young team and their future is very bright. Like I said, this team reminds me a lot of the Cardinals in Season 3. A great team that is so young. I expect this team to be even better and make it all the way to the NFC Championship game next season.
For the Packers, the amazing story continues. There was no way that the Packers would have fought all season long to make the playoffs just to crumble. Christian Watson, Mr. 99Ms himself, had 5 receptions for 245 yards with 3 touchdowns! That man is worth all the money in the world. But it was not just him. Well, actually it kinda was. But that was all the Packers needed. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. Man, I am so impressed with this team. This week, they will go against the Saints. And if I’m being honest, I see no chance they lose this game. They are too hot right now. Go Packers!
