After a tie with the Patriots, it was hard to tell if that tie would help or hurt the Bills later on in the season. The way the Bills had been playing, it looked like that tie wouldn’t have mattered with the Jets and the Patriots not playing up to standard. However, the Jets started to wake up. And this week, they got a huge win over the Bills (8-6-1) to up their record to 9-6. Ties are considered a half-win and a half-loss, but the Jets do have the higher win percentage due to that tie and hold the division lead. With the AFC being stacked with great competition, only one of these teams will make it (the Bengals/Steelers are locked for one wildcard spot and the Chiefs are locked for another).

For the Jets to get in they would have to win at least one game and hope that the Bills lose at least one too. The Jets do face the dominant Titans next week, a team that embarrassed them last year in the playoffs. Following that, they play the Rams. The Bills go against a top dawg in the Cardinals. Followed by a game with another top dawg in the Lions. Reports have been clear that the Jets are optimistic about their chances, believing in their players and coaches to get the job done. But all that optimism could be gone in a matter of weeks if the Jets take their foot off the gas. Go Jets!
