Going into the Chiefs and Colts Wildcard matchup, we expected a few things. Jonathan Taylor to have a day. Mahomes to make some unbelievable plays. And this to be a defensive matchup with the two teams already playing each other this season. Jonathan Taylor did not have a great day running. And it was actually Anthony Richardson who put the team on his back for the win. Yes, you read that correctly. Anthony Richardson was on one last night.

The game started with both teams doing whatever they wanted on offense. It was clear that both teams had done their homework. At halftime, the score was 17-17. It could have been 24-17, but Richardson got a huge stop after he threw a Hail Mary to end the half. And in the 2nd half, it was all Richardson. Making good reads and taking what the defense gave him, Richardson made a case for himself getting paid in the offseason. Richardson threw for 333 yards with 3 touchdowns. We all were waiting for the Colts to start being conservative and run the ball, but with Richardson being hot, they continued to sling the rock. And that defense that looked a little wonky in the first-half, came up clutch in the 2nd by not allowing a single point. Isaiah Rodgers Sr. seems to have something against the Chiefs, as he had another game-sealing interception.

For the Chiefs, this makes two first-round exits in two years. The Chiefs had a great season though, and did a great job in continuing their run without Kelce. I expect this team to make some moves in the offseason to tighten up their defense while also giving Mahomes some more weapons. It sucks now, but the future for the Chiefs is still bright. Under their great Head Coach, this team is in good hands. I’m positive that next season this team will be ready for everybody.

For the Colts, this is a huge win to inch close to the ultimate prize. They will go against the Bengals in a game that will probably come down to the very end. Will the Colts be able to reach the AFC Championship game or will the pressure be too much?
