And the Rams have done it again. Although they almost let the game slip away, the #7 seed Rams are moving on to the NFC Championship game against the Saints. Wow. Who saw that matchup coming? We will talk about that matchup in another article, but let’s focus on the madness that just transpired.

The 49ers came into the game as 16-1. They had showcased their top defense and much-improved offense all season long. After having such a great regular season where we saw them take down teams like the Colts and the Steelers, many assumed that the 49ers would be meeting the Titans in the Super Bowl. I mean who would be able to stop them? The #7 seed Rams? Are you kidding me? Well, actually…yeah the #7 seed Rams have used this playoffs as a statement to the league. They are here.

In an overtime game where we saw the Rams go for 2 for the win, the Rams have shown that this young team isn’t just going to be a great team in the future. No, they are also a great team now. Bo Nix, a man who got a lot of hate after last year’s terrible performance with the Broncos, put the team on his back in clutch moments. We are talking about a quarterback who had a 24-33 TD-INT Ratio last season with the Broncos. We are watching the making of a superstar. Or we can talk about this receiving core. Marvin Harrison Jr., Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and tight end Matt Sawyer. Whenever Nix was in trouble, he knew that his receivers would come down with the football. And although he didn’t have the best day, the Rams still have one of the best runningbacks in the league in Rahiem Sanders. This offense looks amazing. Defensively, the Rams kept their aggressive defense for the majority of the game. And why not, it was working most of the game. Malik Willis threw two costly interceptions and it was clear the pressure was getting to him.

But the #1 seed 49ers did not give up. They continued to fight until the very end. Even forcing Overtime. Willis would do a great job leading the offense to score, but under the new playoff rules, the Rams got a chance to respond. And they did just that scoring a touchdown and converting the 2-point conversion. This makes two years in a row where the 49ers dominated the regular season but fell short in the playoffs. This team has everything they need and I believe that they will come out next season dominating once again. Only this time, I think they will make it all the way to the Super Bowl.

For the Rams, this has already been an unbelievable run. But aye, why stop now? I counted the Saints out before and they shut me up, but I don’t see the Saints stopping the Rams. However, there is an ongoing investigation inside the Rams organization. Rumors have it that a few key players were involved in a scandal. I’m not sure how that will affect the Rams, but hopefully, it won’t hurt them too much because I’m hopping on the bandwagon. Go Rams!
