Tonight..tonight should be fun. Well for those watching.
Two rising teams war against each other as the Patriots will travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers in our Game Of The Week.
Both teams are coming off a Week 1 win. Drake Maye VS. Justin Fields. #1 defense going into Week 2 vs the #4 defense. Coach Dominic vs Coach Jayforeign. Everyone knows how tough the AFC is and these types of games could play a huge factor in the playoff picture down the stretch. Who do I have winning this battle? Let’s talk about it.
For the Patriots, they are just everything you want to root for. One of those things is having a young promising quarterback in Drake Maye. Maye struggled early in his rookie season. It was looking pretty ugly out there, but the Patriots Front Office had grace. They felt that it was more of a coaching issue than anything. After he resigned from the Chargers midseason, the Patriots would hire Coach Dominic. After typing that out, that seems very fishy, but that is a topic for a different day. Either way, since Coach Dominic entered the building, Maye has played on a Superstar level. But it isn’t just Maye. The Patriots as a team are just so much better. Dare I say, Super Bowl contenders. The way they work together on both offense and defense is just so fun to watch. I said the team is on the rise, but they are already here.
Speaking of already being here, there is a guy on the other side who has had his share of big games. Coach Jayforeign. A coach who owned the NFC, appearing in back-to-back Super Bowls. But since his departure, things have changed in the OG league. Better teams. Better Coaches. Better football. Papa Johns. Just kidding. But for real, the league is so much tougher. He is now in the tougher conference and will have to prove that he is the guy we think he is. The Steelers are led by Justin Fields who is trying to complete his comeback story. Fields would throw 25 touchdowns to 33 interceptions last season. Many felt his time as a starting quarterback would come to an end, but Coach Jayforeign expressed his belief in Fields, which led the Steelers to draft Will Johnson rather than a Quarterback. Adding Will Johnson to this defense is doing what we expected it would. The Steelers would get 2 interceptions and 4 sacks in their win over the Titans last week.
So there is the matchup. Who do I have winning? I don’t know. My mind is telling me Patriots, but my heart is telling me Steelers. The way the Patriots have played since hiring Coach Dominic is hard to bet against, but Coach Jayforeign always seems to handle business. I’m excited to see how this plays out.
