They shocked the world by beating both the Eagles and the Packers. And although the Saints fell short in the NFC Championship game, they should be proud of what they have done. To reach the NFC Championship game with their new Head Coach is so impressive. And now they will look to get even better in the offseason. And as the offseason looms, the Saints have the potential to continue their momentum.
Alvin Kamara may have played his last snaps with the Saints. Fortunately for the Saints, they have a rising star in Andrew Paul. Get this: He is only 20 years old. Wow. The Saints drafted him in the 4th round and he has carried them (no pun intended) to a lot of wins. He has shown us that he has some real Superstar potential with some key breakout games. And after being mentored by Kamara throughout the season, I expect him to be one of the top running backs in the league next season.
After having a great season like this, the Saints may be able to attract some free agents who now know that they are championship contenders. Before the season, no one expected them to be a contender. Cade Klubnik, as a rookie, has turned heads. Going into the season, many did not see him as a franchise quarterback. This season he has thrown 33 touchdowns with only 16 interceptions. Looking at the other rookie quarterback numbers, Klubnik stands out. Not only does he have great stats, but he is a true leader. People say that the Quarterback position is the hardest to play. And although having the ball in your hand every possession is a reason. And although getting the blame for losses is a reason. Another reason is that you have to do more than just play football. You have to make sure that your teammates are happy. Make sure that the coaches trust you. Make sure that you are always setting an example for the guys. And Klubnik has done that. He has been able to bring a new identity to this team. Next season, no one will count this team out. The Saints are here. I expect them to be back in the playoffs next year.
