Injuries plagued the Seattle Seahawks in their fourth game of the season against the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks lost three starters for the remainder of the game due to injury, and it came close to costing them their perfect season bid. Starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke tore an abdominal muscle and he will be out for four weeks, but Geno Smith was able to step up big time in the young rookies absence. Geno Smith was able to bail this usually unstoppable Seahawks offense out of third down after third down. Tyler Van Dyke was the only long term injury that the Seahawks will have to deal with, but the offense also lost Kenneth Walker III in the second quarter, but Zach Charbonnet was able to fill in, in Walker’s absence, with not eye popping numbers, but solid runs on first downs to keep the Seahawks offense on pace. Smael Mondon Jr. was also lost for the game after dislocating his shoulder. Before his injury the Seahawks had given up three points, but after losing him the Seahawks defense went on to give up twenty eight more points. This shows just how important Smael Mondon Jr. is as the green dot of this defense.

Even with these injuries piling up the Seahawks were able to escape Arizona with a W. This does not say much as the Cardinals went to (0-4) following this game, but it is promising for the first time NFL head coach Kirby Smart showing that he can coach his team through adversity to still come out on top.
